How much does SEO cost in Romania? 39 price lists (2026)

SEO audit €200–300, local SEO €100–150/month, entry plan ≈ €200/month. What each price buys, from 39 Romanian price lists checked in 2026.

In Romania in 2026, an SEO audit for a small website usually costs €200–300 (the median is about €250), and a monthly SEO plan costs around €200/month for the entry package and around €400/month for the middle package (market medians). For a local business with a single location, Google Business Profile management and local SEO typically cost €100–150/month.

These figures come from 39 Romanian price pages that we checked in September 2026, plus 27 sources from other countries for comparison. Most prices are quoted without VAT and many are "from" prices, so the final quote can be higher. We converted at 5 lei = €1, $1 = €0.90 and £1 = €1.17.

The extremes are much further apart: audits from €40 to €2,500 (enterprise), monthly plans from €40 to €1,560, with one outlier at €3,000.

The SEO audit

The median of about €250 comes from the lowest small-site price of 13 providers. The cheapest audits cost €40–100, and the most expensive detailed audits cost €800–1,500. The price grows with the size of the site: at one provider, the audit starts from €300 for a small site and from €1,200 for an online store or a large site.

A free audit (for example a score, the top 5 errors and a 30-minute call) is a common first offer, but it doesn't replace a full audit. The most important question: does the audit include the fixes, or only a list of them?

Setup: Google Business Profile and on-page work

Creating or optimizing a Google Business Profile costs €50–120, once (only 3 sources, so treat it as a reference point). On-page and technical optimization (titles, meta tags, speed, sitemap, indexing) typically costs €140–260 as a one-off package; at the top of the market it reaches €240–600, and at one provider on-site implementation starts from €1,000.

Watch the difference between recommending and doing. Some providers charge for implementation separately (one asks an extra €350/month for it), others quote programming fixes separately. That suggests that at some providers the entry package only tells you what should change. If your site is old and the fixes would cost almost as much as a new one, compare first with how much a website costs.

Local SEO: €100–150/month for one location

A local plan usually covers managing your Google Business Profile, replying to reviews, consistent business details across directories and a monthly report. The cheapest service done by a person starts from €80/month with a 6-month contract; software that replies to reviews automatically, with no person involved, costs about €60/month. The highest price we saw was €270/month.

Google Business Profile is packaged very differently: several providers include it from the entry package, one only in the top package, one charges €50 extra as a one-off, and one leaves it out entirely. Replying to reviews is standard, but almost nobody promises new reviews.

SEO plans: what each tier includes

Almost every provider has three packages plus a "custom" option, and the top package usually costs 2–2.5 times the entry one. Among the 19 providers with published monthly plans, entry packages range from €40 to €1,000, with a median around €200. The middle package has a median around €400, and the middle half of offers sits between €250 and €750.

TierWhat it usually includesTypical price
Entryaudit and technical fixes, Analytics and Search Console, meta tags, sitemap; 5–20 keywords; 0–2 articles a month; usually no links; monthly report€80–200/month
Middle ("popular")15–30 keywords; 2–4 articles a month; 3–6 links or 1–2 press mentions; structured data and speed; review call€250–750/month
Top50+ keywords; 4–6 articles; 8–12 links or PR; new city or industry pages; conversion optimization; weekly report or monthly call; dedicated manager€270–1,560/month

Compare offers by the countable units, not by package names: keywords tracked, articles and links per month, pages optimized, and how often you get a report and a call. A monthly report is the minimum almost everywhere. Optimization for AI search (ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews) already appears in Romanian plans, but from about €350/month upwards.

Articles and links, per piece

An article of about 1,000 words written by a person costs €14–40 (highest price found: €60). AI-generated articles also sell for 7–15 lei each, with no stated word count. A link or sponsored article costs €20–60 per placement, typically €25–40.

The contract

Most Romanian price pages say nothing about the contract. Where they do, you see either monthly with no minimum term (14 or 30 days' notice) or a 6-month minimum. Paying upfront earns discounts, for example 10% for a year or 5% for a quarter.

Ask for the timeline in writing too. A benchmark that one provider puts in its offer: technical fixes in 2–4 weeks, better rankings in 3–6 months.

Red flags

  • Ranking guarantees. "Guaranteed first page", "100% guaranteed results". Google doesn't sell rankings, so nobody can guarantee them.
  • Hundreds of backlinks. Packages of 20, 40 or 50+ links a month, which adds up to hundreds a year; links from web 2.0 sites, article directories and PDFs; placements on the seller's own network of sites.
  • Hidden conditions. A price that is valid only if you agree to be a public case study; "no contract" on the page but a 12-month campaign in the FAQ; a setup fee that isn't published; a page that doesn't say whether the price is monthly or one-off.
  • Expired promotions. A promotion that ended on 31 March 2026 still displayed in September, or crossed-out prices with no end date.
  • Prices that contradict each other on the same page, mixed currencies or a price per keyword.

Green flags

  • Final prices, meaning exactly the amount on the invoice.
  • Counted deliverables and, ideally, the hours behind them. One German provider states it plainly: about 3, 6 and 10 hours of work a month for its €199, €349 and €549 packages.
  • An explicit refusal to guarantee rankings. At least seven providers in our data, in Romania and abroad, say so explicitly.
  • A guarantee on the work, not on rankings: if a month's deliverables weren't provided, you get that month's money back.
  • Honesty about fit: a provider that tells you its entry package is too weak for a very competitive niche, or makes a smaller offer for a single location with little competition.

How to choose, by type of business

Local business with a single location (salon, clinic, car service, plumber). Start with the setup: an audit with the fixes done, a Google Business Profile in order, and the main pages optimized. After that, a local plan at €100–150/month can be enough; an entry package around €200/month makes sense if you also want articles.

Online store. Stores are quoted separately. Examples from the data: €589–1,289/month at one agency, from €900/month at another, and one provider adds €250/month on top of its standard package. Ask for counted optimization of category and product pages, not only blog articles.

Very competitive niches (national services, gambling, crypto). Look at middle packages (median ≈ €400/month) and top packages (up to €1,300–1,560/month), with links, PR and steady content. One provider quotes gambling and crypto separately, with a custom price and a €2,500 minimum.

SEO cost in other European countries and the US

ServiceOther European countries and the USRomania
Google Business management, monthly€95–150 (France, Germany, Poland)€100–150
Standard SEO, entry package€200–500 (EU, UK); ≈ €450–900 (US)≈ €200
Article, per piece≈ €36–72 (only 2 sources)€14–40

Full local SEO packages start at €390–720/month in Germany, the UK and the US. A Backlinko survey of more than 300 SEO professionals puts the average at $1,000–2,500/month, with small businesses paying $501–1,000/month. In short: Google Business management costs about the same as in Romania, while full SEO is roughly 2–3 times more expensive in Germany, the UK and the US.
