How to Collect and Show Real Proof of Activity on Your DJ Website (weddings played, events delivered)

A practical guide for DJs: how to gather and display recent events and real results, so clients can see you're active and in demand.

When a couple looks for a wedding DJ, the first question in their head isn't "how much", it's "are they good and are they busy?". A site that only says "I offer professional DJ services" doesn't answer that. A site that shows you played a wedding two weeks ago, a christening last month, and already have dates booked for the summer answers it clearly.

Proof of activity isn't bragging. It's calmly gathering what you already do — the events you deliver — and putting it on your site in a form a client can verify and feel. In this article I'll show you exactly what to collect after each event, how to turn it into credible content, and what to avoid so it never looks fake.

What to collect after EVERY event (a 5-minute routine)

Most DJs deliver great events and document nothing. A year later, the site looks as empty as day one. The fix is a short routine, right after the event, while everything is fresh:

  • The event type and month (wedding, christening, corporate, birthday) — no full names unless the client agrees.
  • The venue or area (hall, city) — also useful for local searches.
  • 2-3 photos or a short 10-15 second clip from the dance floor, with people up.
  • One line from the client, even from a thank-you message on WhatsApp.
  • One concrete detail: how many hours you played, whether you brought sound, lighting, heavy fog, cold-spark fountains.

Save all of it in a single folder on your phone, organized by month. That's the only discipline that matters.

Get permission for footage and photos — cleanly and simply

A wedding is a private event. You can't publish people's faces just because you were there with the speakers. The rule is simple: ask for permission, in writing, however informal.

A WhatsApp message is enough: "I really enjoyed your event. May I use 2-3 clips from the dance floor on my site and page, with no names shown? If you'd rather no clear faces, I'll film only the floor and the atmosphere."

Many happily say yes. Those who hesitate — respect them and use shots where no one is recognizable: a full dance floor from behind, hands in the air, the lights, the crowd in motion. These "atmosphere" shots are the best for proof of activity anyway, because they show energy, not portraits.

Turn events into a "Recent events" page

You don't need a complicated portfolio. You need a simple section, ordered by date, that gets updated. The most credible format is a list of recent events, each with month, type and area:

  • June 2026 — Wedding, restaurant in Cluj-Napoca
  • June 2026 — Christening, event hall in Turda
  • May 2026 — Birthday party, Turda

Next to the list, add a short clip or a collage of dance-floor shots. The effect is immediate: anyone landing on the site sees you're active month after month, not that you posted three photos two years ago.

Add an honest number too, only if you can back it up: "over 40 events a year" is credible only if it's actually true. If you're unsure of the figure, say it in words — "I work every weekend in season". Don't invent percentages and records.

Show availability, not just the past

Proof of activity has two sides: what you've delivered and how in-demand you are right now. The second matters even more to a client with a fixed date.

The strongest signal is a small calendar or availability list: "Open dates summer 2026" with a few weekends marked as taken. When someone sees half of July is already booked, they grasp two things at once — you're in demand and they need to hurry.

It doesn't have to be a complex system. It can be a simple list you update by hand. What matters is that it's honest: if you mark dates as taken when they aren't, it comes out at the first overlap and you lose all your trust capital.

How we deliver this at MPO Web Studio

We build sites for DJs and event services, and we know the hard part isn't the design — it's making the proof easy to maintain. So we design the site so you can add a new event from your phone in a few minutes, without calling anyone.

We work remotely, nationwide, and we build you a ready-made demo before you pay anything — you see exactly how your site looks, with the recent-events and availability sections, and only then do you decide. Pricing is transparent, no surprises.

If you'd like to see a demo built for your DJ profile, send us a WhatsApp message with your city and the type of events you do. We'll put together something concrete for you to look at, no obligation.

Frequently asked questions

What do I do if I don't have the clients' permission to publish photos of them?+

Film and use only atmosphere shots: a full floor from behind, raised hands, the lights, the crowd in motion, with no recognizable faces. They're the best for showing energy anyway. For any shot with clear faces, ask for a quick WhatsApp okay before publishing.

How often should I update the events section?+

Ideally after every event, or at least every two weeks in season. A site showing events from the current month signals you're active. If the last entry is from a year ago, the effect is the opposite — it looks like you've stopped working.

Can I show how many events I've done in total, as a number?+

Yes, but only if the figure is real and you can back it up. An invented number is felt and it damages trust. If you don't keep exact records, say it in words: "I work every weekend in season" or "most weekends are booked from spring".

Is it worth showing booked dates publicly? Doesn't it scare clients off?+

The opposite. When a client sees you already have weekends taken, they understand you're in demand and should book early. The effect is healthy urgency. The only rule: never mark false dates as taken — honesty is your entire capital.

I'm not good with tech. Can I maintain something like this myself?+

Yes, if the site is built for it. We design the events section so you can add a month, a type and a clip straight from your phone in a few minutes. If you prefer, we'll show you how it works in a demo before you decide.
