Sfântu Gheorghe·Events & photo-video

A website for Sfântu Gheorghe photographers and videographers who work on the road

Sfântu Gheorghe is the seat of a small county, and an event photographer feels it from the very first season: clients don't stop at the Covasna border. Brașov is next door, and to the north lies Harghita, where the Szekler community many of your couples come from carries on without any break. A family from Miercurea Ciuc or Odorheiu Secuiesc feels almost like home to you, even if their papers name another county.

Messages arrive in Romanian and in Hungarian, and most of them start with the same question: do you come out to us too? MPO Web Studio builds websites for studios here that answer that question before the person gets around to writing it.

How it works

  1. 1We build you a free demo of your site
  2. 2You tell us what to change
  3. 3You pay only if you love it

“Another county” doesn't mean the same thing to everyone looking for you

For a studio in Sfântu Gheorghe, the county border is a line clients see very differently. A Hungarian family from Ciuc or Odorhei experiences Szeklerland as a single region, with the same customs and the same language at weddings; they don't wonder whether you'll come, but how the travel is calculated. A couple from Brașov asks something else: whether you know their church and venue, and whether you'll set off early enough to catch the preparations. Families from the Întorsura Buzăului area, where Romanian is spoken more, want to know you're at ease at a wedding in their style too. And relatives coming over from Hungary for the event check whether they'll have someone to talk to. They all reach you through the same door; each simply opens it with different words.

In May, a Sfântu Gheorghe studio films the ballagás too

Besides weddings, the town's Hungarian community has a few occasions missing from the calendar of studios elsewhere in the country. Spring brings the ballagás: graduates of the Hungarian-language high schools walk once more through the classrooms and corridors, singing, with flowers in their arms and the farewell bag over their shoulder, while parents crowd along the sides. Winter brings the szalagavató, the evening when each class receives its ribbon and opens the ball with a dance rehearsed for weeks. The client is no longer a family but a whole class or the parents' committee, and the film reaches dozens of homes at once. A studio that has done this for a few years isn't called only within the town: the same customs are kept in Târgu Secuiesc, in Baraolt or across the line in Harghita, often in the same weeks.

“Do you come to us too?”: the answer is on the page before the question

We put the answer where people look before they write, not on a terms page nobody opens. Right under the studio's name there's a clear sentence about where you work, for example Covasna, Harghita and Brașov, elsewhere on request, with your rule, not ours. That sentence doesn't follow the borders on the map but the way people search for you: for a family from Ciuc, “Ținutul Secuiesc”, the Székely Land, says more than three county names, while a couple from Brașov wants to see their own city written there. Below it, a single line says what's already included in the price, with no mileage tables. All of it in Romanian and in Hungarian, because the question comes in both languages. We send you the mockup, with this answer already worded for you, free of charge. Money only comes up after that: prices start from €290, the site is ready in a few days, revisions come as one round, and the 7-day warranty is counted from publication. We work from Cluj-Napoca, everything over WhatsApp.

Frequently asked questions

Families from Harghita write to me in Hungarian, couples from Brașov in Romanian. Do I show them the same travel terms?+

The same terms, but not necessarily the same words. On the Hungarian page we use the place names they use, Csíkszereda, Székelyudvarhely, Kézdivásárhely, so people recognise their village at a glance; on the Romanian page, the official names. The travel rule stays one and the same, so nobody gets a different offer depending on the language they wrote in.

Weddings around here end towards morning. What's the best way to show on the site when I need accommodation?+

With a short rule written next to the packages: from what distance or from what finishing time you ask for accommodation, and whether the family provides it or you include it in your quote. People don't mind a request like that when they read it from the start; they mind when they only find out at the contract signing.

I've only worked in Brașov a few times. Is it worth listing Brașov among my areas?+

List only what you can show. If you have two or three good events there, we put them in the portfolio with their location and Brașov goes on the list; if not, you leave it under “on request”. A couple who find even one wedding from their city already have a reason to write to you; one who sees only the city's name with nothing underneath, not so much.

In May, ballagás, the school-leavers' farewell, and weddings fall in the same weeks. How do I show on the site that I can take on both?+

With a separate page for ballagás and szalagavató, the ribbon ceremony, written for the parents' committee rather than for couples: how many people come on your side, how the film is split between classes and by when spring bookings are made. That way, the parents of a class in Târgu Secuiesc book you in winter, and you see your May days filling up early, before you promise the same day to a wedding.
