Barbershop Website in Zalău, Seen First by the Clients Who've Known You for Years

Much of today's Zalău went up in the years of the big factories, when whole neighbourhoods of apartment blocks rose at the foot of the Meseș, filled with families who came from all over Sălaj. Many stayed for a lifetime. You can see it at the barber's: a barber with years in the trade cuts the grandfather, the father and the grandson, and knows who wants his parting on the left and who can't stand the clippers on his neck. These clients are the backbone of the salon, and they are also the ones who bring in new people.

When you put up a site with bookings, they must be the first to feel at home on it, not guests at a door built for strangers. The MPO Web Studio team works on sites like this for Zalău's hair salons, barbers and barbershops, and we prepare the mockup with your salon's name on it at no cost, so you can show it first to the clients who know you best.

How it works

  3. 3You pay only if you love it

Grandfather, father and grandson in the same chair

In the neighbourhoods built along with Zalău's factories, many people have lived in the same block for decades, and some have kept their barber just as long. For a barber like that, a client isn't a booking but a story: he knows his cut, the volleyball matches he never misses, his children's names. When the son comes alone for the first time, he comes because his father said so. A bond like this isn't built online, but it can be damaged there. A cold site that treats everyone with the same impersonal distance can leave a lifelong client feeling he has become a number. One written in the salon's own words, with the barbers introduced by first name and work he recognises, shows him he has stayed with the same man.

The factory generation retires, the grandsons choose on a screen

Many of your oldest clients came to Zalău to work in the town's factories and stayed for a lifetime. They grew up along with the housing estates below the Meseș and kept their barber for years, even after some of the factories closed. Today many have retired: they come by less often, some not at all. Their grandsons no longer choose a barber out of family habit. They look at haircuts, prices and free slots on a screen, put two or three salons side by side and decide in the evening, without asking anyone. The shift is slow, but it shows in the diary. A website is how you reach the young ones without leaving behind those who have kept your salon going for so many years.

Three generations read the mockup before the town does

Before the town sees it, the mockup of your website, made free of charge in your salon's name and with your prices, goes past a family that has had its hair cut at your place for three generations. Each of them reads something different. The grandfather, who came to Zalău with the factories, looks for the day you close early and the price of his cut, and spots at once whether it's still last year's. The father checks that the barbers appear under the first names the whole neighbourhood knows them by. The grandson, who picks his barber on a screen, tells you whether the gallery looks like the cuts his classmates wear. Three people from the same family catch what a stranger would miss, and their remarks go into the single round of revisions included in the price. You can see what a finished salon site looks like on mpowebstudio.com/demo/beauty. The price starts from 290 €, launch comes within a few days, and the first 7 days after publication are covered by the warranty.

Frequently asked questions

My clients have been coming in for “the usual” for years. Do they have to pick a service from the list too when they book?+

Not necessarily. We can add an option among the services called exactly that, “the usual”, with the length of their regular cut. The long-time client taps it, picks a time and that's it; what “the usual” means is something you know, not the site. Newcomers see the full list with names and prices, and those who've known you for ages don't have to learn names they've never used.

On evenings when there's a home volleyball match, I want to close early so I can get to the hall myself. How do I stop bookings coming in for then?+

You close that evening's hours in the diary, just for the match day, and those slots disappear from the website without touching your regular hours. Anyone looking for a time that evening sees the next free day straight away and doesn't message you to ask. If you like, a short line can sit next to your hours, say “Wednesday we close at five, there's a match”, which your volleyball-going clients will be the first to understand.

Can I put my clients' words on the site, with their consent, but without their full names?+

Yes, and that's the honest way to do it. You write exactly what the person said, ask whether he agrees and sign with first name and initial, for example “Ionel P., a client since high school”. We don't invent opinions and we don't polish them: a sentence actually spoken by a client, awkward bits and all, sounds truer than anything we could write.

Families from the estates below the Meseș who have come to me for three generations are now bringing their little ones for their first haircut. Can I put a dedicated booking for that on the website?+

Yes, as a separate service, called just that: “first haircut”. Next to it you write briefly how it goes: the child can sit on a parent's lap, and if he gets scared, you stop and try again another day. If you usually keep a lock of hair in an envelope for the family, say so too: it's the kind of gesture parents look for. For the grandfather who sat in the same chair, it matters that the grandchild starts with you as well.
