Online Shop Development for Retailers in Călărași
In Călărași, the trading year isn't set by the calendar on the wall but by the fields. The town sits in the Bărăgan, on the bank of the Borcea, and in many families around it the money comes in with the harvest: wheat in summer, sunflower and maize in autumn. In spring people buy for the garden and the yard, during the harvest weeks few people have time for shops, and in autumn, once the crop has been sold, many of the purchases put off for months finally get made.
A retailer here knows this rhythm by heart, and their prices move with it. The online shop has to keep pace just as quickly as the sign taped to the window. For Călărași retailers who sell well over the counter, MPO Web Studio builds online shops that follow the season instead of staying stuck on last season's prices.

The Bărăgan's money reaches town after the harvest
For a shop in Călărași, sales aren't spread neatly across the months. Households that live off the land, and those that live off work on the farms or at the grain stores, spend carefully while the crop is still in the field and more freely once it has been sold. You feel it even in shops with no link to farming: clothes, shoes, small appliances, furniture, gifts. On top of that rhythm comes each product's own season — seedlings and tools in spring, fans and garden hoses in summer, stoves and firewood in autumn. When the two overlap, you get a few busy weeks followed by a long lull. Whoever catches the peaks and clears the shelf in time ends the year well; whoever is left with seasonal stock in the storeroom sells it next year, cheaper, with the money tied up in the meantime.
The post-harvest discount can't wait for a programmer
A Călărași merchant knows how to react: when they see that seasonal stock isn't moving and people are still holding on to their money until the harvest is sold, they write “sale” by hand on a piece of cardboard and stick it by the entrance; when new stock arrives, the cardboard disappears. Over the counter, that happens by reflex. Online, the same reflex runs into a simple question: who changes the price on the website? If the answer is “a programmer, when they have time”, the discount appears a week late — precisely the week when families from the villages have been paid for the harvest and come into town — and stays up for another week after you wanted to go back to full price. And a customer who sees a different price on screen than on the shelf stops believing either of them. Where the money comes in from the fields in just a few weeks a year, the price on the screen has to move on the same day as the one on the shelf.
Your discount has an on switch, an off switch and an end date
In the shop's panel, a discount is set as easily as a price: you pick the product or the whole category, type the reduced price and, if you like, the day it starts and the day it ends. The shop switches it on and off by itself on the set date, even if you're at the supplier's or in the storeroom. For the end-of-season clearance you put the discount on a whole category; for free delivery you choose the threshold from which it applies. The old price appears struck through next to the new one, so the customer sees what they save. You try all of it in the free demo set up on your own products, and at handover we go through it together once, step by step. We work from Cluj-Napoca, fully remotely, over WhatsApp. The package covers a single round of revisions, and for 7 days after the shop goes online we correct without charge anything that doesn't turn out as agreed; a standard version is finished within a few days.
Frequently asked questions
I want a discount only for customers who've been coming to my counter for years. Can that be done with a code?+
Yes. You create a code — the shop's name followed by the current year, for instance — and choose what it does: a percentage off the cart, a fixed amount or free delivery. You can limit it to certain products, to one use per customer or to a set period. You mention it at the till to the people you want to reward, and it appears nowhere on the website.
Some customers from the farms ask me for goods on credit until after the harvest. Can that work on the website too?+
It can, but not for everyone. We set up a “pay later” method that only the customers you approve can see, from their account; their order comes in as unpaid, and you mark it as paid when they bring the money. Other buyers don't see the option and order with the usual methods. The term and the amount you're willing to give on credit are your call, just as they are at the counter today.
At the end of autumn I want to know what I sold at a discount and what at full price. Where do I get those figures from?+
From the admin panel. You choose the period and see the orders where a discount or code was applied, with their value and the products sold that way. Put next to them what sold at full price, and you find out which seasonal goods only went after you cut the price. It's a useful calculation to make before ordering from your supplier for next year.
When I put a discount on, which old price am I allowed to show struck through?+
Not just any price. The European rule on announcing discounts, which also applies in Romania, requires the struck-through price to be the lowest price you charged during a period before the discount, not a figure inflated to make the reduction look bigger. We can add an extension to your shop that keeps a history of prices so you have something to check against; for unclear cases, ask your accountant or read the ANPC guidance.
