Online Shop Development for Retailers in Focșani
Until the Union of the Principalities, Focșani was a town of two halves: on one bank of the Milcov lay Moldavia, on the other Wallachia, each with its own rulers and its own ways. The border vanished long ago, but a Focșani retailer still meets it almost every day at the till, in another form. One customer only takes the money out of their wallet once they hold the parcel, another pays with their phone without a second look, and the small producers from the vineyards ask for company paperwork and pay through the bank.
An online shop that takes money in only one way quietly loses everyone else. MPO Web Studio builds shops for Focșani retailers in which every buyer finds the way of paying they're used to, without having to ask anyone.

A town at the foot of the vineyards, with customers to match
Focșani sits right at the edge of the vine-covered hills. Odobești is a stone's throw away, Panciu a little further north, Cotești to the south-west, and much of life around the town follows the vineyard calendar: pruning in spring, spraying in summer, harvest and fermentation in autumn. For a retailer here, this shows in two ways. In the busy weeks, people from the vineyards can't find time for a trip to the centre and buy from wherever they can order from home. And among the customers there are also wineries, associations and registered producers who buy as businesses and want the money to go through an account, with proper paperwork, not through the courier's hands. Two neighbours from the same village can therefore need completely different things at checkout.
Where a bank-paid sale breaks down today
Many retailers in Focșani already receive money into their account, just along a route done by hand: the customer asks for the IBAN on Messenger, you type it out between two customers at the counter, they copy it with a wrong digit or forget to say what they're paying for, then send the proof as a photo. For a vineyard producer who runs everything through the bank, this route is too long and not official enough; for someone in Odobești who just wanted to pay without cash, it's an hour of waiting in which they can change their mind. Every step taken in a chat is a place where the sale can stop, and bank payment is where the steps are most numerous.
At checkout, the buyer chooses: card, transfer or cash on delivery
In the shop we build for you, payment has three doors, and you decide which ones stay open. Card, for those who want to finish the order on the spot. Bank transfer, for businesses and for people who prefer the bank: the customer automatically receives the account details, the amount and the order number, and the goods stay reserved until you see the money arrive. Cash on delivery, for those who only pay with the parcel in their hands — limited, if you like, to certain amounts or products, if you've had parcels refused. You try all of them in the demo, which we make for free with your goods and send you on WhatsApp: place a test order through each route and see what the customer receives and what you receive. We're based in Cluj-Napoca and no meeting is needed; a single round of changes is included in the price, the first 7 days of operation are under warranty, and you know the amount in writing beforehand.
Frequently asked questions
I've had cash-on-delivery parcels refused at the door. Can I switch off cash on delivery for certain orders?+
Yes. Cash on delivery can stay active only up to a certain amount, be removed for specially ordered or bulky products, or be kept only for customers who've bought from you before. The buyer sees the rule before sending the order, and you no longer pay for the round trip of a parcel nobody wanted.
If a customer chooses bank transfer, how do I know the money has arrived before I send the parcel?+
The order comes in with the status “awaiting payment”, and the customer receives by email your account details, the exact amount and the order number to put in the transfer reference. When you see the sum on your statement, you move the order forward with one click and pack the parcel. If the money doesn't arrive within the number of days you've set, the order is cancelled and the product goes back into stock.
Do I bear the card fee myself, or can I pass it on to the customer?+
The processor's fee normally stays with the retailer, and EU rules don't allow an extra charge when the customer uses an ordinary personal card. So you factor it into your prices, like any other cost of selling. For transfer and cash on delivery, only the terms you already have with your bank and your courier apply.
Cash-on-delivery money only comes back from the courier after a few days. How do I keep track of it?+
In the order list you see, for each order, how it was paid and where the money is: still with the customer, collected by the courier, or already in your account. Card and transfer payments reach you directly; cash on delivery goes through the courier first, under your contract with them. Knowing which amounts are still on the way makes it easier to plan paying your suppliers.
