Online Shop Development for Merchants in Sfântu Gheorghe

In Sfântu Gheorghe, the same town goes by two names in everyday speech: Sfântu Gheorghe and Sepsiszentgyörgy. The shops here often have several names too: the one on the sign above the door, frequently in Hungarian, the registered company name that appears on the receipt, and sometimes the nickname the neighbourhood knows them by. At the counter, none of this confuses anyone. The customer walks in, says hello and buys.

The confusion starts when that same customer looks for you from home. They type on their phone the name they remember, with or without accents, next to one of the town's two names — and land on an old Facebook page, on the name of a company they have never seen, or on a shop with a similar name in another country. We at MPO Web Studio work for Sfântu Gheorghe merchants who want the person from the counter to recognise them online too, at first glance.

A town with two names, and shops with just as many

Sfântu Gheorghe is a town with a Hungarian majority, and the names on the shop signs show it. One customer remembers your shop by the Hungarian word on the sign, another by its translation, a third by the owner's name. Each of them, when searching for you online, types something different: some write Sepsiszentgyörgy, others Sfântu Gheorghe, and many leave the accents out, because the phone keyboard does not add them by itself. An online shop that appears only under its legal name, or in only one of the languages, loses some of them right at the search. Not because it is weaker than another shop, but because the person does not realise it is the very shop near their home.

When a search in Hungarian sends your customer across the border

There is another trap, particular to a town where a lot of shopping happens in Hungarian. Someone searching for a product in Hungarian often gets results from Hungary: large shops with .hu domains, prices in forints and delivery from across the border. Your customer in Sfântu Gheorghe sees them, may compare them, and if your page does not clearly show that it is from here, they do not even suspect the same product is a few streets away. That is not solved with an advert, but with the way the shop is built: your name exactly as it is on the sign, the town written in both forms, prices in lei, the pickup address and delivery around town in plain sight, so that from the first page the person grasps they are not ordering from far away, but from someone they know.

On screen, the same sign your customer sees above the door

Your demo starts from the shop sign, not from a template. You send us a photo of it, plus a bag or a business card, and we build the shop under the name written exactly that way, with its accents, in the colours your customer already recognises. We suggest a web address as close as possible to the name on the sign, without accents, so anyone can type it; on the page we put both names of the town, and the legal company name stays where it belongs, in the footer and in the documents. At the end you get a short list of the places where the same name should appear — your Facebook page, your Google profile, your bags — which you update yourself. We do not promise you a particular spot in Google; we promise that when the customer finds you, they recognise you. You get the demo for free and decide after seeing it. The team is in Cluj-Napoca, and the collaboration happens entirely online, over WhatsApp; the job includes a single round of revisions and a 7-day warranty from launch, and a shop with few products is ready within days.

Frequently asked questions

My company is registered under one name, but the sign above the door says another. Which one goes on the shop?+

Both, each in its place. The name on the sign is the one customers search for, so it appears in the header, the logo and the page titles. The company name, with its identification details, sits in the footer, in the terms and conditions and on the order documents, where it has to be. That way the customer recognises you, and the shop stays compliant.

On the sign and the bags the name is in Hungarian. Do we translate it into Romanian on the site?+

No. The shop's name stays exactly as customers know it, in the language it is written in on the sign: translated, it would become a different shop for anyone looking for you. What can appear in both languages is the rest of the page — descriptions, buttons, delivery information — if you want that. The name on the sign, however, we leave untouched.

I renamed the shop a few years ago, but people still call it by the old name. Will anyone find me that way?+

We do not erase the shop's past. On the about page we state plainly that this is the former shop with the old name, at the same address, and the old name also appears in the page text, so whoever looks for it realises they have come to the right place. We cannot guarantee how Google ranks it, but whoever lands on the page has no doubt it is the place they know.

I want to keep the logo from my sign. Is redrawing it for the website charged separately?+

If you have the logo in digital form, we use it as it is and it is not a separate job. If it only exists on the sign, we redraw it cleanly from a photo so it looks good on a small screen too; we tell you beforehand, in writing, whether that adds anything to the total. Either way, you see the demo free of charge, with your logo already in it.
