Guesthouse Website in Alexandria: Direct Bookings, No Commission

Most guests at a guesthouse in Alexandria have work in the farmland around it, a plain that lives off agriculture: agronomists, mechanics called out to combine harvesters in the middle of the harvest, people from the firms that buy and haul the crop. Others are on the DN6 between Bucharest and Craiova and stop for a night because they don't want to keep driving in the dark. Add people on official business at the county institutions and families who've come for a celebration, when their relatives' house is already full.

None of them pays resort rates and none of them is looking for a holiday: they want a clean room close to their work and somewhere to leave their work clothes. A website of your own won't work miracles, but it changes one simple thing: whoever writes to you from it books directly, and the night they pay for stays whole with you.

How it works

  1. 1We build you a free demo of your site
  2. 2You tell us what to change
  3. 3You pay only if you love it

In Alexandria, the fields set the guesthouse calendar

There's no beach season or ski season here, but there is a season of fieldwork. In spring come the people who handle sowing and crop spraying. In summer, at harvest time, the combine crews arrive, along with grain buyers and the drivers who haul the wheat, and autumn brings the maize and sunflowers. These guests stay three, five, ten nights in a row, leave at dawn, come back dusty in the evening and, the following season, ask for the same room. Winter is quieter: what remains are people on official business, families in town for an event and those passing along the DN6. For a guesthouse in Alexandria, that means many modest nights spread across the whole year, not a handful of expensive weekends that carry the remaining months.

The same percentage, on a much cheaper night

A platform's commission is the same percentage everywhere, but it doesn't weigh the same. On a room with a sea view, plenty of the night's price is left once the middleman's share is gone. In Alexandria, where a night sells at small-town prices, your costs don't fall along with the rate: the electricity for the air conditioning in July, washing the linen after people back from the fields, the woman who cleans, the hot water for the evening showers. Out of what's left after those, the platform's percentage takes a far bigger slice than it seems on the invoice. And your best guests, the harvest crews, stay many nights in a row, so that slice is cut from every one of their nights, from the first to the last.

We get paid once, the nights stay yours

The website we build for you takes nothing from your bookings: no percentage, no fee per night. A request goes from your page straight to your WhatsApp, with the details the guest typed, and we never even see it. You pay for the site once, starting at 290€; after that, the yearly costs are just the domain and hosting, which can be registered in your own name. So you don't have to buy on trust, you first get a free demo built on your own rooms, prices and the drive up to your door; you can open an accommodation site we've built at /demo/turism. If it convinces you, the site goes live within a few days. There's one round of revisions in the price, and launch is followed by 7 days of guarantee. We're based in Cluj-Napoca and work with you remotely, all of it on WhatsApp.

Frequently asked questions

Harvest workers come back in the evening covered in dust. What do I write on the site so they know they're welcome?+

Write exactly what they'll find: where boots and work clothes go at the entrance, whether they can use a washing machine and where laundry dries, whether the room has air conditioning in the hot months and how early they can leave in the morning. Someone who works the fields chooses the house where they don't feel like a nuisance. Once they've found it, they don't look for another one next season.

Do you also take a percentage of bookings that come through the site, the way the platform does?+

No. You pay for the site once, starting at 290€, and requests reach you directly, on WhatsApp or by phone; we don't see them and earn nothing from them. Each year you only pay for the domain and hosting, modest costs we tell you about before we start. The exact price for the site is sent to you in writing along with the demo.

In summer my rooms are full of harvest crews. How do I tell how many nights came from the site and how many from the platform?+

The button on the site opens a conversation that already starts with your guesthouse's name and the requested dates, so you recognise a request from there at a glance. Note them in a notebook, month by month, and set them next to the commission invoice the platform sends you. After one season you see, in your own figures rather than ours, how much stayed with you.

Drivers on the DN6 look at my rooms on the site but still book through the app. What am I doing wrong?+

Most of the time, the driver doesn't know they can book directly for that very evening. Write at the top, next to the rate, that for same-night stays you take requests until a certain hour and that you reply on the spot. Someone who has been driving for hours on the DN6 isn't after the lowest price, but a sure confirmation before it gets dark; if your page clearly promises that, they have no reason to go back to the app.
