Guesthouse Website in Târgu Jiu, Room by Room
Many people come to Târgu Jiu for Brâncuși. They walk from the Table of Silence through the Gate of the Kiss to the Endless Column, along the axis that crosses the town, and have seen what they came for in one afternoon. The question that concerns you comes next: do they sleep here or move on?
The answer usually depends on the next day's road. From Târgu Jiu you head for Novaci and Transalpina, for Tismana, for the caves at Polovragi and Baia de Fier, or through Defileul Jiului. Anyone with a road like that ahead wants a good night close to it, and before booking looks very carefully at the room they'll sleep in, not at one more photo of the Column.

The night between Brâncuși and the mountains
Someone who comes for Brâncuși's ensemble can leave the same evening, and many do just that. You keep them by showing what they gain by staying: the Column in the morning light, with no groups around, and an early start for Transalpina that no longer begins with a long drive from another town. Guests like these aren't looking for a whole holiday with you; they want one very good, restful night between two full days. That shifts the attention from the landscape to what happens inside the room: how good the bed is, how clean the bathroom is, whether it's quiet on the street side. The guesthouse that shows exactly these things persuades even the person with the Transalpina map already open to stay.
In summer, guests arrive on two wheels
In the season when Transalpina is open, a good number of those heading up ride motorcycles, usually in groups of three or four friends, sometimes more. For them, the question before booking isn't what's outside the window but where the bikes will sleep: in a closed yard, under a roof, in sight of the room. They arrive in the evening after a day of hairpin bends, with heavy gear and their minds on the next morning's departure, which is early. They want to know whether the bikes can come in through the gate, whether there's room for all of them, whether something is served before seven. A happy group of riders sends another group after it, because riders swap stories about roads and places to sleep. In winter, when the mountain road is closed, Târgu Jiu has other guests, but in summer rooms are booked on two wheels too.
The bed, the bathroom and the motorcycle's spot, each in its own photos
It's tempting to open your gallery with the view: the hills, the mountains towards Rânca, the Column at sunset. It's lovely, but it's everybody's landscape. Someone sleeping a single night between Brâncuși and the Transalpina wants to see where they will rest and where whatever they rode in on will stand until morning. When we put your free demo together, every room has its own gallery under its own name, and the yard gets a page of its own for those who came on two wheels: how many motorcycles fit, which spot is covered, how the gate is locked at night and whether the bikes can be seen from the room. The view keeps its place on a single page. You can see what an accommodation site of ours looks like at /demo/turism. Prices begin at 290€, delivery takes days, and the price covers one round of revisions plus a guarantee of 7 days counted from launch.
Frequently asked questions
In summer, groups of motorcyclists write to me. What do they want to see on the site before they book?+
The yard, before the rooms: how many motorcycles fit, whether they stand under a roof and whether the gate is locked at night. Say what the ground at the entrance is like too, because on gravel or on a slope a heavy bike is hard to manoeuvre after a day of hairpin bends. If the parking spot can be seen from the window, add a photo taken from the room itself. For them, where the bike sleeps matters as much as the bed they sleep in.
Guests ask whether Transalpina will be open when they want to come. What do I write?+
That the road closes in the cold season and only reopens when the authorities announce it, so no guesthouse can give a firm date. On the site we put that note next to the request, so people read it before booking, and below it what can be done from Târgu Jiu on the same day: Tismana, the Polovragi caves, Defileul Jiului, each with the minutes of driving from your gate.
The Endless Column is close to me. How much should I use it on the site?+
Once, well placed. Write how long it takes to walk there and which way, add a photo you took yourself rather than one from the internet, and leave the rest of the page to the rooms. Everyone knows what the Column looks like; nobody knows what your room looks like until you show them. Being nearby is an argument, not a gallery.
I want a separate gallery for each of my seven rooms. How much does that add to the starting price?+
The start is 290€, with the main page, the rooms and requests on WhatsApp. Separate galleries for seven rooms mean more pages and more photos to prepare, so the amount goes up, and by exactly how much we write in the offer, item by item, before we begin. The demo you see in any case without paying anything.
