Website for a Restaurant or Café in Reșița: What You Cook and Where It Comes From

Reșița grew up around its furnaces. Ever since the first ones were lit in 1771, craftsmen from Austria and Bohemia came to the foot of the Semenic mountains, settled next to the Banat villagers along the Bârzava, and each brought to the table what they cooked at home. That mix left behind a cuisine where paprikash sits beside dumpling soup and schnitzel beside cheese pie, and a city with mountains, forests and lakes right at its edge.

For a restaurant here, this means a plate can sometimes carry a true story, where the cheese comes from, who raised the meat, whose yard the walnuts grew in, and sometimes it can't, which is just as fine. MPO Web Studio builds websites for restaurants, bistros and cafés in Reșița that show your menu as it leaves your kitchen, bring bookings and orders straight to you, and tell the story of your ingredients only where there is one.

A menu as mixed as the city

In a Reșița venue, the same kitchen sends out paprikash with dumplings at lunch and a pizza or a plate of mici, Romania's grilled minced-meat rolls, in the evening. That isn't a lack of identity; it's how the city was made, from people who came from different places and ended up eating at the same table. The trouble only shows on a phone screen, where a long menu with no order looks like a warehouse list. On the site, the Banat dishes get a section of their own, placed first, each with a line on what's in it, and the rest of the menu follows for anyone who just came for a pizza. Locals find their usual dish without searching, and someone from Timișoara or another corner of the country sees at a glance what's eaten here and not in any other city.

The weekend heads out of town, toward the lakes

Lake Secu is a short drive from town, and further up the Bârzava lie Văliug, Crivaia and the road to Semenic, where plenty of locals have a cabin or a favourite spot by the water. In summer, at the weekend, part of the city sets off toward the lakes, and everyone stocks up for two days of grilling and being outdoors. This is where a restaurant can become part of the plan without waiting for the guest at a table: mici ready for the grill, marinated meat, sarmale, a tray of cakes, ordered on Thursday and picked up on Friday, on the way to the lake. On the site, the cabin list sits apart from the daily menu, with the cut-off time for orders and the pickup window, and the order reaches you in writing, not dictated in a rush.

Provenance, written only where you have something to say

People in Reșița know who sells what at the market and which cheese comes down from the mountain sheepfolds. In a city this size, a made-up story about ingredients gets found out fast. So, while building the mockup, we ask you, item by item, where you get your meat, cheese, vegetables, flour and the fruit for your preserves. Where you have a true answer, the butcher you've bought from for years, the caș cheese from a shepherd you know, the walnuts from your own yard, we write it in a single line next to the dish, with no adjectives. Where the answer is the wholesaler, the line simply isn't there: we don't dress a sack of flour up as a legend. The mockup is yours for free: we take the structure at /demo/horeca and fill it with your dishes and your venue. Prices start at €290, and the site is online in a few days. We revise once, based on your notes, and that round is worth using to read every provenance line; after launch you have a 7-day guarantee. The whole process happens online, from Cluj-Napoca.

Frequently asked questions

We have nothing to tell about our ingredients; we get almost everything from the wholesaler. Will our site look poorer than others'?+

No. A missing line goes unnoticed; an invented one doesn't, especially in a city where people know their suppliers. Without ingredient stories, the site rests on what you really have: Banat dishes cooked in-house, portions photographed in your own dining room, the cabin list, clear hours. And if one day you start getting your cheese from a shepherd up the mountain, that line is added in a few minutes from the admin page.

On Fridays many guests ask us for food to take to their cabin at Crivaia or Văliug. Can they order it on the site as early as Thursday?+

Yes. We make a separate weekend list with whatever you choose to offer, from raw mici and marinated meat to sarmale or tray cakes, plus the time on Thursday until which you take orders. In the simple version, which is part of the basic site, the guest taps a button and writes to you on WhatsApp what they want and when they'll come to collect it. If you'd rather have a form where they pick the quantities and the Friday pickup window themselves, that's an extra feature, and we tell you in writing, before we start, how much it adds. You confirm the order, and they pay at pickup, like any order taken at the counter.

We buy our vegetables at the town market, not directly from growers. Does that count as provenance?+

It depends on what you know about them. If you've been buying peppers and tomatoes from the same stall for years and know which village they come from, the line is written just like that: from the market, from whom and from where. If you pick whatever looks best each morning, we write nothing, because a line without a name adds nothing to the menu.

In summer we get our cheese from a sheepfold on Semenic, in winter from the wholesaler. What do we write in the months when it's no longer the shepherd's?+

The sheepfold line stays on the site only as long as it's true. When you switch to wholesale cheese, you hide it from the admin page and the dish stays on the menu without it; in spring, when the sheep go back up, you make it visible again. You don't need to write to us each time. A guest who asks at the table where the cheese comes from then gets the same answer as on the site, and that matters more than a nice line left there all year.
