Website Design for a Gym in Călărași

Călărași filled up with new apartment blocks when the steel plant on the banks of the Borcea opened at the end of the seventies, and many families moved to town with it. The plant is no longer what it was, but the town's habit stayed: people know each other from the block, the market, the old workplace, and you first hear about a gym from someone who's been going there for years.

If you run a gym or studio in Călărași, that means your long-time members advertise you or undo you without asking. A good website doesn't replace them: it says the same thing they say, for the person who hasn't had a chance to ask them yet. MPO Web Studio makes gym websites that pass first through the hands of the people who know your gym best.

How it works

  1. 1We build you a free demo of your site
  2. 2You tell us what to change
  3. 3You pay only if you love it

Your gym also has the name the town gives it

The sign says one name, but around town your gym is usually called after its location: “the gym by Dumbrava market”, “the one in Mircea Vodă”, “the one on Republicii”, “the one by the station”. That's how long-time members recommend it and how people who heard them look for it. A newcomer remembers the landmark mentioned at work, not the company name, and if your page never says what you're next to, they don't make the connection and move on. The people who've trained with you for years know exactly how the town talks about your gym. They also know the landmarks people from Cărămidari or the station area use to explain the way. No agency finds that information in a spreadsheet; your members have it, in their own words, and it deserves to go on the site the way they say it.

Long-time members also say what doesn't work, so the page has to say it first

Someone in Călărași who recommends you after ten years at your gym isn't advertising, they're filing a report. At the Mircea Vodă market they'll say the showers work well and the morning trainer is patient, but they'll say just as calmly that in the evenings people queue for the benches and that last summer the air conditioning struggled. The person who listened then opens your page with that list in mind. If all they find there is superlatives, they don't think the long-time member exaggerated; they think the page is hiding something. If they find written down the very shortcomings they heard about, together with what you do about them, meaning the hours when the benches are free and what you've fixed since, they understand that the person at the market and the gym are saying the same thing. For a gym here, an honest page isn't a risk but the only version that survives the town's first conversation. And the people who know best which shortcomings get mentioned about you are the very ones who have been coming to you for years.

Those who've known you for years find the mistakes in ten minutes

For your Călărași mockup we start from the complete gym site sitting at /demo/fitness and put your name, schedule, memberships and trainers into it; the link then reaches you on WhatsApp. From there, you run the test with your own people. Pick five long-time members, each from a different time of day: a morning regular, an evening one, a woman from the classes, someone who's been coming since you opened. Send them the link with a single question: “What would you tell a friend differently?” Within a few days your phone holds everything that's missing, everything that sounds too good to be true and the landmarks we had no way of knowing. You send us the notes gathered in one message, and we work through all of them within the one round of revisions your price covers. Payment comes only after that: the starting price is 290€, publication takes a few days and we cover the site with a 7-day warranty from publication. One more gain: those five already have the link and pass it on from day one. Our team works remotely, from Cluj-Napoca.

Frequently asked questions

A few of my oldest members only use their phone to make calls. Is it worth asking them about the site too?+

It is, because they're exactly the ones who know best what the town says about your gym. Don't send them the link; show them the mockup on your own phone, at reception, after their workout, and ask what's missing. Someone who's trained with you for fifteen years notices straight away if you forgot the Saturday class or listed hours you no longer keep. Note what they say and pass it on to us yourself, in the same message as the other notes.

People know the gym by where it is, not by its name. What goes in the page title: the company name or the landmark?+

Both, in the order people use them. The gym's name stays in the title, with the familiar landmark right next to it — “by Dumbrava market”, for example — repeated in the address and the directions. Someone who heard “the gym by the market” recognises the place from the first sentence, and someone searching by name finds you anyway. The exact wording of the landmark usually comes from the long-time members themselves, during the test.

A few veterans love the weights room the way it was, iron and loud music, and I want to bring women into the classes too. How do I balance both on the page?+

Give each its own place without hiding the other. The weights area is presented with pride, with photos taken at its busy hour, and classes get a section of their own, with the times, who leads them and a line on what the atmosphere is like at those hours. The veterans recognise themselves in the first part, the women in the second. If the classes are held in a room separate from the machines, say so clearly: for many of them, that's what decides it.

My oldest members are still on the rate from a few years ago. Do I put only today's prices on the site, or theirs too?+

Only today's prices: they're the offer for whoever joins now, while the old rate is an agreement between you and the people who grew along with the gym. If you like, add one discreet line — “members who've been with us since the opening keep their rate” — and turn it into a point of pride rather than a comparison. Newcomers see that loyalty counts here, and the veterans don't find their number being discussed at the market.
