The 24/7 Towing & Roadside Page: How to Get Found at 3 AM
A concrete guide for towing businesses: how to build an emergency page that people actually find and call when they're stranded at night.
Someone breaks down on the highway at 3 AM, car stuck on the shoulder. They don't open Facebook, don't read long reviews, don't compare offers. They pull out their phone, type "towing [city]", and call the first number that shows up big on the screen and gets answered. If that's you, you've won the customer. If not, someone else took them in thirty seconds.
A towing page isn't a brochure. It's a panic button. The person is stressed, maybe scared, holding the phone in one hand and the wheel in the other. What matters here isn't how pretty the site is, but how fast they find the number and press it. In this article I'll show you, step by step, how to build a page that gets found at night and turns panic into a phone call.
The phone number is the hero of the page, not your logo
First rule: the phone number must be the very first thing the visitor sees, no scrolling. Big, clear, as a tappable button (a tel: link), not as text they have to copy.
On mobile, where nearly all emergencies come from, place it stuck at the top and repeat it at the bottom, so the thumb finds it effortlessly. Put a WhatsApp button next to it for people who'd rather drop a map pin than explain where they are.
- Number as a button, not an image (you can't tap an image)
- A fixed button that stays on screen as you scroll
- Short text beside it: "We answer around the clock"
Everything else on the page, however useful, is secondary to this. If the person has to hunt for the number, you've lost them.
Say clearly WHAT you do and WHERE, or Google won't show you at night
When someone types "towing [city] night" or "crashed car pickup highway", Google looks for pages that say exactly those things. If your page only says "auto services", it won't match the search.
Write on the page, in the words people actually use, what you cover:
- The areas and cities you serve, plus the highways and main roads nearby
- The types of jobs: breakdown, accident, won't start, out of fuel, pulled from a ditch
- That you work around the clock, including nights, weekends and holidays
Use clear headings ("24/7 towing in [region]") and repeat the area naturally in the text. Don't cram keywords in unnaturally, write the way a customer would ask. That's how both the person and the search engine find you.
Google Business Profile: the map is where the phone user finds you
Many night calls don't come from your website, but straight from Google Maps or the box that appears at the top of search. That's your Google Business Profile, and it's free.
Set it up seriously:
- Correct category (towing service / roadside assistance)
- Hours set to "Open 24 hours", otherwise at night you show as "Closed" and they call elsewhere
- Phone number identical to the one on your site
- Service area configured so you appear when someone searches nearby
Ask for reviews from the customers you've helped, especially the ones you got out of nasty spots. Nobody can promise you a guaranteed first place, and be wary of anyone who does; but a complete profile, with 24/7 hours and real reviews, lifts you much higher at the moment that counts.
Speed and trust: the page has to load on weak mobile data
The person is out in a field with one bar of signal. If your page loads slowly, they leave before they see the number. An emergency page has to be light: few heavy images, no pointless animations, text that appears instantly.
Then add a few elements that build trust on the spot:
- An honest estimated arrival time ("we usually reach you within [range]")
- What to do until you arrive (warning triangle, vest, get behind the barrier)
- Your coverage area, so they know you'll come to them
- Accepted payment options, so there's no surprise
Honesty matters more at night than by day. Don't promise "in 5 minutes anywhere". Tell the truth and honor it, and that person will call you again next time and tell others too.
How to build the page without overcomplicating it
You don't need a big ten-page site. To start, you need one well-made page: a tappable number at the top, what you do and where, 24/7 hours, WhatsApp, a few lines of trust, and a properly set-up Google profile. That's it.
If you want us to build it, here's how we work at MPO Web Studio: we first prepare a ready-made demo you can see before paying anything, so you know exactly what you're getting. We work entirely remotely, so it doesn't matter which city you're in, and pricing is transparent, stated upfront, no surprises.
If you'd like to see what your towing page could look like, send us a message on WhatsApp. We'll reply with a demo, no obligations.
Frequently asked questions
Why don't I show up on Google at night, even though I have a site?+
Usually it's one of two things: your Google Business Profile doesn't have hours set to 24 hours (so at night you show as "Closed"), or the page doesn't clearly say you work around the clock and in which area. Fix the Google profile first, it's free and matters more than the website for night calls.
Do I need a whole site, or is a single page enough?+
For towing, one well-made page is often enough to start: a tappable number, what you do, where, 24/7 hours and WhatsApp. A bigger site helps with trust and SEO over time, but don't hold up the launch for it. Start with the emergency page and the Google profile.
Does the call button really matter, or is writing the number enough?+
It matters hugely. A number written as plain text forces the person to memorize or copy it, and at night, stressed, they won't. A number as a tappable button (a tel: link) starts the call in one touch. That difference shows up directly in how many calls you get.
How long does it take to build a page like this?+
The page itself can be built quickly, in a few days, because it's simple in structure. What takes longer and is worth doing well is the Google profile (verification can take some time) and gathering reviews. At MPO we prepare a demo you can see before paying, so you don't waste time.
Is it true someone can guarantee first place on Google?+
No, and don't trust anyone who promises it. Nobody controls Google's ranking. What you can concretely do is optimize your Google profile, have a fast, clear page about 24/7 towing, and gather real reviews. Those lift you seriously at the moment someone searches and calls.
