How much does a rebrand cost for a small business
An honest cost guide to rebranding: the difference between a new logo, a full visual identity and a total rebrand, what drives the price, and when it's actually worth it.
A rebrand for a small business in Romania generally costs anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand euros, depending on how far you take it. A serious new logo starts at €150–400. A full visual identity (logo, colours, fonts, brand guide, templates) usually falls between €400–1,200. A total rebrand that also replaces your website reaches €1,500–3,000 and up, because at that point you're changing almost everything the customer sees. There's no single price, and anyone who quotes a number without asking questions is either guessing or selling a template.
We're MPO Web Studio, a team in Cluj-Napoca in Cluj-Napoca, working 100% remotely with businesses across Romania, and we see this confusion often: "I want a rebrand" means very different things to different clients. Below we explain the three levels, what pushes the price up and, more importantly, when it's worth investing and when it's just spending for the sake of something new.
Logo, full identity or total rebrand: what's the difference?
These aren't "small, medium, large" versions of the same thing. They're three different projects with three different goals.
A new logo solves one problem: the symbol and how your company name is written. You get it in the formats you need (for print, for web, on light and dark backgrounds). That's it. It won't tell you which colours to use on Facebook, which font to put on invoices, or how the website should look.
A full visual identity begins with the logo but goes further: a colour palette, fonts, usage rules, and usually a few concrete materials — business card, a post template, a document header. In practice you get a small "manual" so anyone can produce materials that look consistent.
A total rebrand means you're changing perception, not just appearance. This often includes the company's name or message, the tone you speak in, and almost always a new website that reflects it all. This is the project that approaches the few-thousand-euro range, because you're not redrawing a logo, you're rebuilding how you present yourself everywhere.
What it costs, by level
Here are the honest ranges we see in the market for a small Romanian business. They're indicative — your project may be simpler or more complex.
| Level | What's included | Indicative range |
|---|---|---|
| New logo | Symbol + wordmark, print and web files, light/dark background variants | €150–400 |
| Full visual identity | Logo + colours + fonts + short brand guide + 2–3 materials (business card, post template, header) | €400–1,200 |
| Total rebrand | Full identity + message/tone + a new website reflecting the new brand | €1,500–3,000+ |
On the website side, our prices are transparent and public: a one-page landing €290–490, a presentation site €490–890, and an online shop from €690. If the rebrand includes a website, you add the identity cost on top of the site cost — which is why a complete total rebrand quickly reaches a few thousand euros. For a fuller picture of the web side, see how much a website costs.
What raises (or lowers) the price?
The same two words — "new logo" — can mean €150 or €800. The difference comes down to concrete things:
- How many variants and revision rounds. Three proposals and two rounds of tweaks cost more than "one direction, one revision".
- The research beforehand. If we look at your competitors, your audience and what you have now, the result fits better — but it takes longer than a logo made "from the first idea".
- How many ready-made materials you get. Just the logo is cheap. Logo + business card + post templates + invoice header cost more, because it's more actual work.
- The name and the message. If you also change the company name, checks appear (domain, availability, how it sounds), which add time.
- The website. The biggest factor. A rebrand without a site is an expense; a rebrand with a new site is a bigger but far more visible investment.
A warning sign: if someone sells you a "complete rebrand for €100", you're almost certainly getting a logo from a generator with no thinking behind it. That's not wrong as a starting point, but it isn't a rebrand.
When is a rebrand actually worth it?
A rebrand is worth it when it solves a real business problem, not when you're bored of your logo. It's worth it if:
- Your name or logo works against you — it sounds like another industry, it's hard to spell, or it gets you confused with a competitor.
- You've grown and no longer look like yourself — you sell something different from three years ago, but the image lagged behind.
- You look amateurish next to competitors — customers compare you on Google and you seem "smaller" than you actually are.
- You're merging, repositioning or entering a new market — that's when an old brand genuinely holds you back.
It's not worth it if your real problem is that you don't show up in search or don't get enough enquiries. There, a new logo changes nothing — you more likely need local SEO and a website that puts you in front of people, or visibility in AI answers, which we cover in what AEO/GEO is. And if you're still wondering whether you need a serious online presence at all, start with why I need a website.
An honest tip: if the budget is small, don't waste it on a half-done total rebrand. A clean logo plus a good presentation site beats a cheap "complete rebrand" that still looks amateurish. A good brand shows most where customers look for you — on your website and your Google profile.
How we approach a rebrand
We start with a simple question: what problem are you trying to solve? If it's just the logo, we make you a good logo and don't push you toward packages you don't need. If you want consistency everywhere, we build the full identity. If you're also changing how you're perceived, we tie it all to a new website, with clear prices from the start.
We give you a fixed price per project, not "we'll see as we go", and if the rebrand includes a website, you can see it before you pay: we build a free demo on your actual case. Message us on WhatsApp at wa.me/40750257140 and we'll honestly tell you which of the three levels you need — and which you don't.
Frequently asked questions
How much does just a new logo cost for a small business?+
A serious logo starts at €150–400, depending on how many variants and revision rounds you include and how much research we do beforehand. You get the files in the formats needed for print and web, plus light and dark background variants. A logo from an online generator costs less but gives you no thinking behind it and no consistency with your other materials.
What's the difference between a logo and a full visual identity?+
The logo only solves the symbol and the name. A full visual identity adds the colour palette, fonts, usage rules and a few concrete materials (business card, post template, header) so all your materials look consistent. A full identity usually falls between €400–1,200.
Does a rebrand include a new website?+
Not necessarily. A logo or a visual identity doesn't require a website. A total rebrand, however, almost always includes a new site that reflects the new brand — which is why it reaches a few thousand euros. With us, the website is priced separately and transparently: landing €290–490, presentation €490–890, shop from €690.
When is a rebrand NOT worth it?+
It's not worth it if your real problem is that you don't show up in search or don't get enough enquiries. There, a new logo changes nothing — you need local SEO, a good website and online visibility. A rebrand is worth it when the name, logo or image genuinely work against your business, not when you're simply bored of them.
How do you give me a price for a rebrand?+
We start from the question 'what problem are you trying to solve?' and give you a fixed price per project, not 'we'll see as we go'. If the rebrand includes a website, we build a free demo on your case so you can see the result before you pay. Message us on WhatsApp at wa.me/40750257140.
