Auto repair SEO for garages, ITP inspection stations and tire shops

Drivers search by job, brand and timing: “itp cluj deschis sambata” (inspection station open on Saturday), “vulcanizare non stop cluj” (24/7 tire repair), “diagnoza auto cluj pret” (car diagnostics price), “service bmw cluj”. Google shows them a map with three results first, and they choose fast, by hours, reviews and distance. To be among them you need a Google Business Profile with exact hours and listed services, plus a page on your site for each important job.

We do this for car repair shops, ITP inspection stations and tire shops, without keyword-stuffed names, without “authorized” where it isn't true, and without promising the #1 spot.

What drivers type: the job, the make, “open Saturday”

Google's suggestions for Cluj show four patterns. Drivers search in Romanian, usually without diacritics:

  • the job: “diagnoza auto cluj pret”, “schimb ulei cutie automata cluj” (automatic gearbox oil change), “schimb anvelope cluj pret” (tire change price)
  • the timing: “service auto cluj non stop”, “itp cluj sambata”, “itp cluj deschis sambata”, “vulcanizare non stop cluj”
  • the place: “vulcanizare mobila cluj” (mobile tire service), “schimb anvelope la domiciliu” (tire change at home)
  • the brand: “service bmw cluj”, “service specializat bmw cluj”, “programare service bmw cluj”

For most of them the first thing Google shows is a map with three garages, ranked by relevance, distance from the driver and prominence. For “open on Saturday” or “24/7”, the hours in your profile are the first thing the driver sees: if they are wrong, you have lost the customer before they call. For “price”, a page with an indicative price and what it includes answers the question; one that only says “call for a quote” doesn't.

Demand is seasonal too: tire changes are searched mostly in spring and autumn, so the pages and posts should be ready before the rush, not during it.

Profile, one page per job, ITP only with RAR authorisation

In the SEO Foundation:

  • the Google profile with the category that describes what the business is, the services list filled in, exact hours including Saturday, and real photos of the workshop
  • a separate profile for the ITP station or tire shop only if they are genuinely separate operations, with their own entrance or category
  • for mobile tire service or repairs at the customer's home: a service-area business profile with the address hidden and the areas you travel to (Google allows up to 20)
  • AutoRepair structured data on the website, with hours and services
  • a page structure with one page per job (diagnostics, automatic gearbox oil change, timing belt, brakes, wheel alignment, ITP, tire fitting and balancing), each with an indicative price, duration and what is included
  • the technical problems on the site are fixed by us, directly

In the Local package the profile follows the workshop's season: holiday hours, posts before the tire-change rush and new photos from the workshop.

In the Growth package we improve the job pages month by month and write articles around drivers' real questions. We only build brand pages where you have real specialization, with the tools, dedicated diagnostics and experience, not for every brand that drives into your yard.

“Authorised BMW service”, stuffed names and other traps

A few common habits do more harm than good:

  • Keywords in the Google profile name. “Service Auto Cluj Non Stop Ieftin” (cheap 24/7 car service Cluj) instead of the real business name breaks Google's rules and puts the profile at risk; we use the real name.
  • “Authorized BMW service” or “BMW partner” when it isn't true. In BMW v Deenik, the Court of Justice of the EU ruled that an independent garage may say it repairs and services a brand's cars, but may not suggest a commercial connection with the manufacturer. We write “we repair and service BMWs”, without using the brand's logo as your own identity.
  • “ITP” or “RAR authorized” without the authorization. Periodic technical inspections are done only at stations authorized by RAR, the Romanian Automotive Register, so we never claim it without the authorization.
  • “From” prices that don't exist. A starting price has to be one you actually charge; otherwise it is misleading advertising.
  • Reviews bought with a free car wash or requested only from happy customers. Google bans both, and Romanian law (Law 363/2007, amended in 2022) treats fake reviews as an unfair commercial practice.

We ask every customer for a review, with nothing in return, and reply to all of them, negative ones included, calmly and to the point. And no one can guarantee rankings, as Google itself says.

Tyre season sets the calendar

Within 2–4 weeks the garage's Google profile is set up and the site's technical problems are fixed. Correct hours and a complete service list help from the first day they are live.

Rankings usually move in 3–6 months. Searches for a specific job, with a city or with “pret” (price), usually face less competition than “service auto cluj”, so we track those first. If we start mid-season, the tire pages probably won't climb in time; we prepare them for the next season.

The monthly report shows views, calls and visits from Google, so you see whether more people are calling, not just where you rank.

Frequently asked questions

Can I say we repair BMWs if we're not an authorized service?
Yes, you can say you repair and service cars of a particular brand. You can't suggest that you are an authorized service or a manufacturer's partner, for example with “authorized service” or by using the brand's logo as your identity. That follows from the EU Court of Justice ruling in BMW v Deenik.
We have an ITP station and a tire shop at the same address as the garage. Do we need separate profiles?
Only if they are genuinely separate operations, with their own entrance or category. Otherwise we list them as services in the same profile and give them separate pages on the site. ITP only appears in the profile and on the site if the station is RAR authorized.
I run a mobile tire service. Do I have to show my address on Google?
No. As a service-area business you can hide your address in the Google profile and choose up to 20 areas you travel to. On the site we build a page that states the areas, your hours and how customers can call you out.
Is it worth putting prices on the site?
For standard jobs, yes: searches with “pret” (price) come up often in Google's suggestions for car services. We add an indicative price, what it includes and how long it takes. The starting price has to be real; if it varies a lot from car to car, we say so and explain why.
