Dental SEO for dental practices and clinics in Romania

A patient with an aching tooth types “dentist cluj urgente” (emergency dentist); one thinking about an implant types “implant dentar pret per dinte” (implant price per tooth). Google shows them a map with three practices first. To be there you need a complete Google Business Profile, a clear page for every treatment, and genuine reviews with replies that reveal nothing medical.

That is what we do for dental practices and clinics, within the advertising rules of the Romanian College of Dentists (CMSR) that apply from 1 July 2025: no superlatives, no “offer” or “discount” wording, and no domains like specialty plus city, which the CMSR guide gives as an example to avoid.

Price per tooth, emergency, neighbourhood: what patients search

Google's suggestions for Cluj show three kinds of search. Patients type them in Romanian, often without diacritics:

  • price: “dentist cluj preturi” (dentist prices), “implant dentar pret cluj”, “implant dentar pret per dinte”
  • urgency and hours: “dentist cluj non stop”, “dentist cluj urgente”
  • place and patient: “dentist cluj mănăștur”, “mărăști”, “zorilor”, “gheorgheni” (city neighborhoods), “stomatologie turda”, “stomatologie apahida”, “clinica stomatologica copii cluj” (children's dental clinic)

For most of them Google shows the map with three local results first, ranked by relevance, distance and prominence. You can't change distance. Relevance comes from your category, services and how complete the profile is; prominence from reviews, your replies and how well known the practice is.

Below the map come the websites. A patient looking into an implant usually has two worries: the cost and how unpleasant it will be. What matters is a page that deals with both honestly: what the implant involves, how many stages, how long it takes, what it costs at your practice and who performs it. A “Services” page listing ten treatments answers none of that in detail.

The right category, a full price list, treatment pages

In the SEO Foundation we start with the Google profile and the website:

  • the primary category set to what the practice is (usually Dentist or Dental clinic); secondary categories such as Orthodontist, Endodontist or Pediatric dentist only for services you really offer, since Google advises using as few categories as possible
  • a practitioner profile for dentists who see patients directly, where Google's rules allow it
  • Dentist structured data on the website, with address, phone and opening hours identical to the profile
  • Search Console, sitemap and a list of searches worth tracking, by treatment and by neighborhood
  • we make the technical fixes ourselves rather than handing you a list

We can also put your full price list on the site: the CMSR guide allows it on the practice's own website, if it is clear and includes additional costs, and it answers “price” searches directly.

In the Local package the profile shows the practice as it is now: real photos, holiday hours and emergency slots if you offer them, and we reply to reviews without mentioning any treatment.

In the Growth package we write and improve treatment pages: implants, orthodontics, endodontics, children's dentistry, emergencies. Each explains the stages, duration, alternatives and possible complications, as the CMSR requires for patient information, and names the dentist who performs the procedure, with their qualifications. A person checks every text and your dentist approves it before it goes live, because for health topics Google expects accurate content.

What CMSR rules exclude: “offer”, “guaranteed”, “the best”

On the website, in the Google profile and in posts, the CMSR rules exclude:

  • “the best”, “leader”, “unique in Romania” or comparisons with other practices
  • “100% success”, “implant guaranteed for life” or promises like “fixed teeth in 24 hours”
  • “offer”, “promotion”, “discount”, “package” or “prices starting from”; discounts and freebies belong in the practice, not in advertising
  • a domain made only of generic words, such as specialty plus city: the CMSR guide gives exactly such examples, so we won't suggest one

Before-and-after photos are allowed with the patient's consent, anonymized, without misleading retouching or filters, and showing typical results rather than exceptional ones. Patient testimonials may appear on the site, but the practice is accountable for them, and they won't earn you stars in Google: reviews a business publishes about itself don't get review stars.

For Google reviews the rule is simple: ask every patient, not only the happy ones, and offer nothing in return. Incentivized or filtered reviews, and reviews from staff or relatives, break Google's policy. In replies we never confirm that someone is a patient or mention a treatment, because the GDPR specially protects health data.

Borderline wording is worth checking with your lawyer or your regional college.

Emergencies work from day one, implants take longest

The first 2–4 weeks go on fixes: the Google profile, structured data, site structure and speed, Search Console. Some changes pay off as soon as they are published: correct hours, a phone number that can be tapped on mobile, the right category.

Pages don't all climb at the same pace. Neighbourhood searches (“dentist cluj mănăștur”, “stomatologie apahida”) have few competitors and usually move first. “Implant dentar pret” (implant price) is the most contested: you compete with large clinics and medical information sites, so the implant page is an investment over several months, not one. For emergencies the profile matters most: correct hours and a phone that gets answered help from the first day.

The monthly report shows Google clicks for each treatment page and calls from your profile, so you know which treatment brings patients, not just impressions.

Frequently asked questions

Can I publish prices on my site without breaking CMSR rules?
Yes. The CMSR guide allows a full price list on the practice's own website, with the full price and any additional costs, presented clearly. What isn't allowed in advertising is wording such as “prices starting from”, “offer” or “discount”. A full list also answers searches like “implant dentar pret per dinte” (implant price per tooth).
We also treat children. Is a separate page worth it?
Yes. It is a different search (“clinica stomatologica copii”, children's dental clinic), a different decision-maker, the parent, and different questions: from what age, how the first visit goes, what happens if the child refuses treatment. The page says who works with children and what training they have, and we add the secondary category “Pediatric dentist” to the profile only if you really offer it.
Can you get us more reviews?
We help you ask for them properly: a direct link to your Google review form, sent to every patient. We don't promise a number of reviews. We don't ask only satisfied patients and we offer nothing in return, because both practices break Google's policy. In the Local package we reply to every review without confirming any medical details.
Can I use before-and-after photos?
Yes, if the patient has consented, the image is anonymized and it isn't retouched or filtered. The CMSR guide also expects typical results, not the most spectacular case. On the site we place them next to the treatment explanation, not as a promise of results.
