SEO for kindergartens, private schools, after-school programs and courses

Parents choose a kindergarten or private school months before September, and many start on Google, searching by neighbourhood and price. If your site has no clear fees page, no page for each location and no visible safety information, the parent moves on to the next result.

SEO for education means answering on your site the questions parents have before they call: what it costs and what that includes, what a day looks like, who looks after their child, what authorisation you hold. And publishing those answers early enough, before enrolment season.

What parents search: fees, neighbourhood, schedule

Parents' searches are concrete and often include price or area: "grădiniță privată Cluj preț" (private kindergarten Cluj price), "grădiniță privată Baciu Cluj", "grădiniță privată Mărăști", "școală primară privată Cluj" (private primary school), "after school Cluj". Courses are the same: "cursuri engleză Cluj adulți" (English classes for adults), "cursuri engleză Cambridge Cluj", "meditații matematică Cluj" (maths tutoring).

For these searches, Google first shows a map of nearby Google Business Profiles. Map order depends on relevance, distance and prominence, and distance matters a lot: a parent in Mănăștur rarely drives a child to Mărăști every day. Below the map come websites and kindergarten and course directories.

On your site, the difference comes from the pages parents compare: fees and what they include (meals, extended hours, optional activities), the program (curriculum, timetable, activities, school pick-up for after-school), the team and their qualifications, safety, and the enrolment calendar. Google tends to show the page that answers the question concretely, not the one with the most superlatives.

The pages parents compare: fees, safety, enrolment

  • Foundation: a technical and content audit, with the fixes done by us. We show you which pages are missing (fees, program, team, safety, enrolment) and what each one needs, for example on safety the authorisation or accreditation with the ministerial order number, security, allergies and the medical protocol; how many of them we write is agreed in the offer. If you have several locations, each real location needs its own Google Business Profile, with its own address. For course centres we add course-list structured data so Google understands what you teach and to whom.
  • Local: for each location, the profile shows holiday closures, photos of the spaces and posts about open days or new groups starting. We write the replies to parents' reviews on your behalf.
  • Growth: articles for parents (how to choose a kindergarten, which documents enrolment requires, what a day of after-school looks like), scheduled around your enrolment calendar, and existing pages improved month by month.

Accredited or provisional, children's photos, admission promises

  • "Accredited" is not the same as "provisionally authorised". A school or kindergarten operates legally when it is provisionally authorised or accredited by ministerial order, and the difference concerns the right to issue study certificates. ARACIP advises parents to ask for the order. On your site we state exactly the status you hold, with the order number.
  • Adult courses: only providers authorised under Government Ordinance 129/2000 can issue nationally recognised certificates. If you are not authorised, we don't write "recognised diploma".
  • Photos of children: publishing them requires parental consent under the GDPR. We prefer images of the spaces, materials and activities in which children can't be identified.
  • Promised results: "guaranteed admission" or "fluent in 3 months" can be misleading commercial practices under Romanian law (Law 363/2007). We write what you actually do: how many hours, which level, which method.
  • School holidays missing from the profile. An after-school club closed for the summer but showing "Open" on Google sends parents to a locked door. We set special hours for every holiday in the school-year calendar. Reviews are requested from every parent, with no fee discount in return.

A beautiful site doesn't make up for missing basics. If a parent can't find your authorisation and your hours, the homepage design doesn't matter.

The enrolment calendar: why you start in autumn

The technical fixes and a corrected Google Business Profile for each location take 2–4 weeks; new pages go live once we have the information from you.

In education the calendar matters more than in most fields. Enrolment for September is usually decided in spring, so enrolment pages and articles for parents need to be published and indexed before that, ideally in the autumn or winter before. Language courses and tutoring pick up at the start of the school year and before exams, so their content is prepared ahead too.

Frequently asked questions

Should I publish my fees on the website?
Parents search with "price" explicitly, so a fees page answers their search directly. It doesn't have to be a bare list: say what is included (meals, extended hours, optional activities) and what is paid separately. If you don't want to publish exact amounts, at least give a range and what it covers.
We have limited places and a waiting list. What goes on the site?
An enrolment page for the next school year: the calendar (when applications open, when parents get an answer), the documents needed, how many places each group has and how the waiting list works. When places free up or enrolment opens, a post on your Google profile says so. We don't write "last places" unless it's true: false urgency is a misleading commercial practice.
Can we use photos of children from our activities?
Only with the parents' consent for every child who appears, kept in writing. We recommend images of the spaces, materials and activities where children can't be recognised. For Google, what counts is an optimised image and descriptive alt text, not the faces in the photo.
When is it too late to start for this year's enrolment?
Technical fixes and the Google profile can be done at any time, within 2–4 weeks. Rankings for competitive searches usually take 3–6 months, so for enrolment decided in spring it is best to start the autumn or winter before. If you start later you still gain, but more likely for the following season.
